I am surprised by reading something on this report.

The annual sales of the Urantia Book are well-above the average book in the publishing world, especially considering the decline of print media.

However, why were only 88,015 downloads made from Urantia.org? Are people downloading the Urantia Book from other sources, and how can it be tracked?

That's 242 per day, without counting any other sources. Evidently there are other sources that might be useful in tracking. This is from UF's 2018 annual report:

Downloads: 120,580 books downloaded from urantia.org and the Apple app.

From the 2017 report:

130,732 books downloaded in 127 countries from urantia.org and the Apple app.

UAI and Truthbook also offer UB downloads, not sure about the Fellowship.

Why can't someone who promotes the Urantia Book appear on the Joe Rogan podcast? Why hasn't anyone thought of this?

You thought of it, Presto! Have you submitted the suggestion?

I wonder what would happen if I contacted someone like Byron Belitsos and asked him if he'd appear on Joe Rogan. Pato Banton would be a good choice too.

Can't hurt to try.

Occasionally, it strikes me and I spend a bit of time flabbergasted: we have a book of revelation that gives us all we need to know to make the most of our lives while on earth and provides a roadmap for what comes next, and yet so few people seem to know about it! It's absolutely crazy, to me, that this book isn't part of everyday conversation by ordinary people as they go about their lives.

And then I blink back to reality and realize the many reasons why this isn't so.

Sigh ....

Fellowship too. And Wikisource (1955 Edition)...and many others.

And why download at all? Cloud stored at many sites, both digital and audio in over a dozen languages!! All available 24/7 by phone or any internet connection device. Not to mention file sharing locally. I wonder how many UB related website hits/visits every day now? Foundation alone averaged over 2000 first-time hits every day last year. Traffic here at TruthBook is pretty brisk too...more repeats than first timers I'm sure.

The research tools for topical studies are the most exciting digital advances to me. I remember when my memory, colored pencils, margin notes, and Concordex were my only means of notating and tying the Papers together by word, phrase, and subject. Now? Wow!

There is a UB underground in multiple countries with no or restricted internet but no world wide web...political and religious and publication bans and prohibitions ...censorship.

Publication numbers and download records no longer indicative of its audience I don't think.

Every generation the readership grows exponentially. Imagine a century of free internet global access in dozens of languages! And secondary works of art, music, fiction, story books and novels, movies, documentaries, games, validating history and archeology and atomic, astronomical, and biological science!! Wait till China and India and Indonesia and Malaysia get their translations!! Exciting times to be a disseminator!!

How ironic that after 60+ years of publishing the UB, the Foundation recently enjoyed their first year where UB sales proceeds finally equalled publishing costs! Just in time for free downloads and file sharing!! Oh well. Mission accomplished. Universal digital free access!!

Still nothing so satisfying as the gold leaf and leatherbound edition in my lap!! I know...quaint, right? Hahaha....

Bradly. 8)

Here is an update. I've contacted Byron Belitsos and Pato Banton, and they've both expressed interest in appearing on the Joe Rogan Experience. I also sent an email to Joe Rogan's producer.

Are annual sales of the Urantia Book, including free downloads, increasing year by year?

Should the Urantia movement be considered a member of or separate from the world's religions?

The Urantia "movement" is a global community of religionists, not a religion. Some students of the Revelation believe a new evolutionary church and religion should be established. Several of those have attempted such an endeavor but without much result.

The major organizations are not religious organizations or churches and do not sponsor or support those either. All bonafide Urantia Book students and organizations support personal religious experience and religious expressions by all persons.

The UB teaches that true and valid religion is a personal experience and expression of that personal religious experience of our relationship with the Spirit within.

The diversity of such experience and expression individually and by group culture and traditional beliefs and shared creeds and ceremonies is honored and respected by all serious students of the Revelation.

92:7.3 (1012.4) The many religions of Urantia are all good to the extent that they bring man to God and bring the realization of the Father to man. It is a fallacy for any group of religionists to conceive of their creed as The Truth; such attitudes bespeak more of theological arrogance than of certainty of faith. There is not a Urantia religion that could not profitably study and assimilate the best of the truths contained in every other faith, for all contain truth. Religionists would do better to borrow the best in their neighbors’ living spiritual faith rather than to denounce the worst in their lingering superstitions and outworn rituals.

92:7.4 (1012.5) All these religions have arisen as a result of man’s variable intellectual response to his identical spiritual leading. They can never hope to attain a uniformity of creeds, dogmas, and rituals—these are intellectual; but they can, and some day will, realize a unity in true worship of the Father of all, for this is spiritual, and it is forever true, in the spirit all men are equal.

100:0.1 (1094.1) THE experience of dynamic religious living transforms the mediocre individual into a personality of idealistic power. Religion ministers to the progress of all through fostering the progress of each individual, and the progress of each is augmented through the achievement of all.

100:0.2 (1094.2) Spiritual growth is mutually stimulated by intimate association with other religionists. Love supplies the soil for religious growth—an objective lure in the place of subjective gratification—yet it yields the supreme subjective satisfaction. And religion ennobles the commonplace drudgery of daily living.

103:1.3 (1130.2) While your religion is a matter of personal experience, it is most important that you should be exposed to the knowledge of a vast number of other religious experiences (the diverse interpretations of other and diverse mortals) to the end that you may prevent your religious life from becoming egocentric—circumscribed, selfish, and unsocial.

Please, no. Not a religion. With that would come those who elevate themselves above others and begin to persuade, influence and possibly even manipulate others in order to aggrandize themselves.

No, thank you.
