With my new interest in cosmology and the science behind space, I've come to realize that my interest is short lived. So, I need some help. I'm an education major with a concentration in English, so that's obviously not helping me. What do you physicist, astronomers, etc suggest someone like me do that is interested in such subjects. I'm willing to learn outside of my collegiate education, I just wouldn't know where to begin.

When some of you on here speak of various scientific terms, I can barely understand you, but my desire to exceeds my limitations. With a little direction, I could be on my way to understanding. Thanks.

Hi Solis:
It is very difficult to tell you what to do and what to study and read because we all have differents interests and different mind sets. Some are better at languages , others are better at numbers. Critical thinking is the key and this can be accomplished in any field you choose. There is economic thinking that is great traing of the mind while others approach critical thinking through the sciences. Others gain greater understanding in the study of literature. To some the arts are their choice of expression and understanding. Figure out who you are and how best would you approach and experience truth.

On a personal note, I prayed and meditated on understanding TUB. I want this more and more and with time I have increased that understanding and I understand that this an eternal journey. God may be approached but never achieved. The Infinite is never achievable by the sub infinite. There is no end to progress. Your TA can used your sustained desires to open doors for your mind. You will be led to those resources you need to continue your progress. Be patient. It will not come to you all at once. All good things take time to evolve. Ask and you shall surely receive. In time, what the son truly desires and The father wills, if in alignment, will be eventually manifest.

Thanks Louis.

The advice I'm looking for is in what books to pick up, where to begin, if I absolutely need higher skill math, etc. I have very good critical mental processes, and this can be found in other posts on this forum, but more particular in the Skeptics Corner. I've always loved space, and, at one point, always wanted to be a professional in space related sciences. I grew out of this, however, and now I love the art of words and thought. But, I still have a huge desire to learn, if even on my own. Thanks, again.

Hi Solis:
I understand. Try mastering plane geometry first, then check out trigonometry, then find a good text of Calculus. Any high school text should suffice. Not easy to tackle on your own. The problem with science is that too much of modern science is filled with way too complicated and abstract math.

Newton's Principia is a very good start but find a modern version of the subject of classical physics. I don't know your math background but you must be well versed in algebra as a foundation. TUB is well understood without all this math because a lot of the science is very descriptive. In fact, those who approach TUB with an excessive scientific bent may be at a disadvantage. So much of the science in TUB is revolutionary to current thinking that you may be better off not delving too deeply into what may turn out to be erroneous and illconceived theories. Good luck!
