Dear Truthlovers,
I I am an historian interested in the First Century and I am interested in the Urantia Book descriptions of Jesus' many activities in the cities of the Decapolis. Why do you think the the Urantia Book spends such significant space on this area in contrast to the Canonical Gospels?
Do you have any resources that address the reliability of the Urantia Book's claims of historicity? I see your website addresses some claims of skeptics about science do you have any that address issues of history?

Robert - Welcome. You may wish to visit the following link. It is a ministry of Rick Warren entitled OPAD or one page a day. He just started the Jesus Papers a coulple of weeks ago and Rick posts a multitude of maps and pictures and olden texts to illustrate that area and time. http://urantia.invisionzone.com/index.p ... m/34-opad/

And there are many older topics and threads here at truthbook that are available which also have some good research. Many history buffs and archeology students around. If history's your thing, you should find much herein to interest you. There are threads of history which weave their way back much further in time than we know from surviving text and records which are revealed in the UB. Best wishes in your discoveries!

According to Martin Garder, a skeptic of the Urantia Book, the Jesus papers were either written by higher beings in a position to know or by someone steeped in the New Testament and knowledge of the historical context in which Jesus lived.

Hey Robert as a historian you may find the evidence of the Andites interesting, there is a lot of neat connections being made with this ancient race of people. According to the u.b Easter Island was a religious headquarters of theirs, and they travelled essentially around the globe. One of the good pieces of evidence for this topic would probably be the Tarim Basin Mummies.
