As a parent, you must make sure your child is feed and is loved. It gets more complicated as they grow older. But you must lead by example. The most important thing you can teach your child is compassion. But this must be in your heart first in order to give it to your child. How do you treat people? The cruelity in the public schools is a direct arrow to the parents. If the child is a bully, WELL, is that OK at home? I think if we could teach our children to have compassion for the being who is different from us then we could go a long way in what happens to all those.

I think that is an excellent idea Debbie. And the best way we can teach them compassion and tolerance is by being compassionate and tolerant ourselves. Right?

I whole-heartedly agree!

The Urantia Book has much to say about compassion and this most assuredly has the ring of TRUTH from my perspective. Here is one quote among many:

God is inherently kind, naturally compassionate, and everlastingly merciful. And never is it necessary that any influence be brought to bear upon the Father to call forth his loving-kindness. The creature's need is wholly sufficient to insure the full flow of the Father's tender mercies and his saving grace. Since God knows all about his children, it is easy for him to forgive. The better man understands his neighbor, the easier it will be to forgive him, even to love him (paper 2; pg 38 ).

The "vibrations" of compassion, mercy, and forgiveness are truly high on the learning curve. It is through these high spiritual ideals that the human race will obtain the abundance of its true spiritual heritage and divine potential. This why it is so important to control your own behavior especially while teaching your kids. In this, public schools are poorly equipped to meet the needs of children. It must begin at home. Parents must also be aware of those times in which they say one thing but do the opposite thing by their example. Kids pay close attention to such things and this kind of mixed message will only confuse a child's loyalties.

There will always be bullying and harassment as long as our world supports ideologies witch only favor the physically superior.

Our world has truly advanced when moral fibers are measured more than muscle fibers. :o

I think that how you raise a child does make a huge difference in the choices they make. If you mistreat them at home, who's to say that they may not mistreat others? Life can be made easier with parents understanding and love. Support from Family and Friends are very important to a child.
It also depends on their mental state. Some with mental problems are not capable of making the correct decisions. Personally, I think that should always be taken into account. Child or not if they have done something terrible, they shouldn't actually be thought of as mentally ill unless it is prooven. There are many who claim to be but aren't.
I agree with all of you. :)

Hey Changing do these go along a little with what you are saying?

P.1468 - §3 … Mankind can appropriately be divided into many classes in accordance with differing qualifications, as they may be viewed physically, mentally, socially, vocationally, or morally, but as these different classes of mortals appear before the judgment bar of God, they stand on an equal footing; God is truly no respecter of persons. Although you cannot escape the recognition of differential human abilities and endowments in matters intellectual, social, and moral, you should make no such distinctions in the spiritual brotherhood of men when assembled for worship in the presence of God."

P.1645 - §2 These people believed in signs; they were a wonder-seeking generation. By this time the people of central and southern Galilee had become miracle minded regarding Jesus and his personal ministry. Scores, hundreds, of honest persons suffering from purely nervous disorders and afflicted with emotional disturbances came into Jesus' presence and then returned home to their friends announcing that Jesus had healed them. And such cases of mental healing these ignorant and simple-minded people regarded as physical healing, miraculous cures.

Peace to ALL. O:)

Please correct me if I'm wrong because I do tend to take things the wrong way but if that means what I think it does it goes along perfectly with what I was saying.
I really love those words. Thank you for sharing them with us!
It is really important for everyone to know and understand that God will not judge us,even if those in society do, thank you for making that point.
*HUGS*
