Merry Christmas Friends and Family of TruthBook

Dear TruthBook Friends and Family,

We find ourselves at the Christmas season when 2.5 billion people celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is such a joyous time for so many people in the world! Even though we Urantia Book students know the true date of the Master's birth is Aug. 21, we are always happy to join with the rest of the world in this yearly recognition of the babe of Bethlehem. The Son of Man and the Son of God lives on in the souls of believers worldwide. Joy to the world and on high!

Here at TruthBook we've been very busy preparing major new technology and graphic updates for our website. We expect the new improved site to launch in Feb. 2014. Our mission has been to bring the teachings of this new Revelation to searching Christians and our new improved site focuses directly on that mission. More than ever, the new TruthBook site will be the friendly “go to place” you can send your inquiring friends to learn about The Urantia Book.

Lately you’ve probably been experiencing some slow contact times and pages that were not immediately available. We apologize for that. Once the new site is unveiled, we trust that all of those issues will have been resolved. In the meantime, thanks for hanging in there while we are "under construction."

The Painting and the Birth of Jesus Story

In the spirit of the season, we are sharing one of the latest fine oil paintings in the Mo and Jennifer Siegel Jesus Painting Collection which we've been presenting to you for the past few years.

This lovely painting is called Son of Man, Son of God, and is the work of artist Jeremy Winborg. It is a unique treatment of the traditional family portrait of the little Nazareth family. We see a young, handsome Joseph lovingly protecting his wife and child. Mary is portrayed as the Urantia Book suggests--a "well-nigh blond," and every mother will appreciate her tired, but happy state as she cradles her child of promise.

The fine-art collection is growing, and it is a wonder to see how many lovely painting are now available for the world to see--paintings that commemorate Urantia Book accounts of the life of the Master. You can see the whole collection HERE. We hope you agree that Son of Man-Son of God is an amazing and unique contribution to this growing and vibrant collection.

Here is the familiar story from The Urantia Book:

Quote:
“All that night Mary was restless so that neither of them slept much. By the break of day the pangs of childbirth were well in evidence, and at noon, August 21, 7 B.C., with the help and kind ministrations of women fellow travelers, Mary was delivered of a male child. Jesus of Nazareth was born into the world, was wrapped in the clothes which Mary had brought along for such a possible contingency, and laid in a near-by manger.

“In just the same manner as all babies before that day and since have come into the world, the promised child was born; and on the eighth day, according to the Jewish practice, he was circumcised and formally named Joshua (Jesus).

“The next day after the birth of Jesus, Joseph made his enrollment. Meeting a man they had talked with two nights previously at Jericho, Joseph was taken by him to a well-to-do friend who had a room at the inn, and who said he would gladly exchange quarters with the Nazareth couple. That afternoon they moved up to the inn, where they lived for almost three weeks until they found lodgings in the home of a distant relative of Joseph.

“At the noontide birth of Jesus the seraphim of Urantia, assembled under their directors, did sing anthems of glory over the Bethlehem manger, but these utterances of praise were not heard by human ears. No shepherds nor any other mortal creatures came to pay homage to the babe of Bethlehem until the day of the arrival of certain priests from Ur, who were sent down from Jerusalem by Zacharias.”

For the most comprehensive understanding of this momentous occasion and its accompanying events please read The Birth and Infancy of Jesus.

May the babe of Bethlehem and his matchless life on Urantia continue to inspire your daily walk with God. One day, the whole world will become familiar with the August 21 birthdate, but until then, we join with the world and say, Merry Christmas, and Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Happy Holidays to All!

Sincerely,
Your TruthBook Team
