Dear Friends,
In February of this year, I sadly tendered my resignation as Director of the Jesusonian Foundation and Truthbook.com, and joyfully accepted a job as Director of The Urantia Book Fellowship. Whereas I used to work for Jesusonian/ Truthbook and serve on the Fellowship’s Board of Directors, I will now be serving on the BOD for Jesusonian/Truthbook and will be working for the Fellowship. Isn’t life on Urantia an amazing and unpredictable journey?
Jesusonain/Truthbook.com is in the capable hands of a dedicate group of Urantian believers. There is every reason to believe that under the direction of Mo, Gremlin and Larry, the site and the foundation will surpass even my wildest dreams, and that's good news!
I joined the Rocky Mountain Urantia Society in 1982. This Urantia Society was originally a chapter of the Urantia Brotherhood, which later (in 1990) became the Urantia Book Fellowship. Therefore, the UB Fellowship is the original social fraternal organization of believers in the Urantia Book, having been as it was, created in 1955, simultaneously with the publication of the book itself.
In 1982 when I joined the Fellowship I had been reading the Urantia Book for 6 years. I joined at the behest of some wonderful Urantian friends I studied with. My friends impressed on me the need to pool individual resources together to achieve a modicum of efficacy in disseminating the revelation. They aptly made the point that, with the international Urantia community being so small and so spread out, it was of vital importance that dedicated believers join together to serve. Back then we all felt blessed to have and belong to an organized group of Urantia believers. We had a deep sense of purpose and mission. Sadly, for many, that feeling was lost in the subsequent ideological troubles the Urantia movement experienced, but that was not the case for me. Perhaps it’s because of my service on the Fellowship’s Outreach Committee. Since 1989 I have had the unique opportunity to travel around the country (even the world) serving shoulder to shoulder with various groups of Urantia Book readers on public outreach projects. In view of the dedication I witnessed coming from the various reader communities I visited, my sense of mission not only did not diminish, it became even stronger.
Those who know me know how much I love the Urantia Book Fellowship. I feel blessed to be associated with the splendid and dedicated human beings I have come to know and love within the organization. Over the years, I have continued to willingly serve the Urantia Book Fellowship because of my association with the amazing people I have met who also serve the revelation through it. These dedicated and selfless servers have clearly made an indelible impression on me.
The Urantia Book Fellowship has persevered through some serious challenges, and yet, after 50 years, it’s still here serving with stalwart dedication. It not only devotedly serves God and Man, but it also sacredly serves the Brotherhood of Believers. Just a quick visit to www.UrantiaBook.org will show how much serious dissemination work and genuine UB scholarship has been contributed by the Urantia Book Fellowship and its members.
This Fellowship of revelation believers is on the move. With 50 continuous years of service to our credit, and hearts courageous, we are poised and ready to meet the challenges of the next 50 years and beyond. The world cries out in desperation for the profound truths we enjoy every day in the Urantia Book. I know of a certainty that our Fellowship is not only willing to answer this call but capable of answering it in ways heretofore unimagined. With some of the huge challenges of the past behind us we are moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose and mission. I’m profoundly honored to have been asked to act as the Fellowship’s Director in this new era. I promise to do my utmost to serve not only the needs of Fellowship members, but of each and every person who loves and serves the revelation.
With faith and affection……Paula
