The teachings of the truth about salvation vs. the mythologies of human religion are quite unique and specific in the UB.

https://www.urantia.org/urantia-book/se ... &op=Search

Christianity proclaims salvation from sin, both personal and "original" (or human sin by the "fall of mankind"), and salvation from God's damnation and eternal punishment and suffering.

Certainly this is not the salvation of the Jesusonian Gospel as it is clearly articulated above in the quotes from Paper 101. The Divine connection and the mortal response to and relationship with the Spirit within delivers faith and assurance which IS our salvation.

Faith delivers salvation from fear and anxiety and all uncertainties and the failure of materialism and from all suffering and unhappiness and loneliness and isolation and frustration and disappointment and failure and hopelessness and despair. That's what the Gospel OF Jesus promises to all.

93:6.4 (1020.7) This covenant of Melchizedek with Abraham represents the great Urantian agreement between divinity and humanity whereby God agrees to do everything; man only agrees to believe God’s promises and follow his instructions. Heretofore it had been believed that salvation could be secured only by works—sacrifices and offerings; now, Melchizedek again brought to Urantia the good news that salvation, favor with God, is to be had by faith...

101:9.9 (1116.1) Faith becomes the connection between moral consciousness and the spiritual concept of enduring reality. Religion becomes the avenue of man’s escape from the material limitations of the temporal and natural world to the supernal realities of the eternal and spiritual world by and through the technique of salvation, the progressive morontia transformation.

101:10.4 (1116.5) It is only through the morontial avenue leading to spiritual insight that man can ever break the fetters inherent in his mortal status in the universe. Energy and mind do lead back to Paradise and Deity, but neither the energy endowment nor the mind endowment of man proceeds directly from such Paradise Deity. Only in the spiritual sense is man a child of God. And this is true because it is only in the spiritual sense that man is at present endowed and indwelt by the Paradise Father. Mankind can never discover divinity except through the avenue of religious experience and by the exercise of true faith. The faith acceptance of the truth of God enables man to escape from the circumscribed confines of material limitations and affords him a rational hope of achieving safe conduct from the material realm, whereon is death, to the spiritual realm, wherein is life eternal.

103:7.2 (1137.7) True salvation is the technique of the divine evolution of the mortal mind from matter identification through the realms of morontia liaison to the high universe status of spiritual correlation. And as material intuitive instinct precedes the appearance of reasoned knowledge in terrestrial evolution, so does the manifestation of spiritual intuitive insight presage the later appearance of morontia and spirit reason and experience in the supernal program of celestial evolution, the business of transmuting the potentials of man the temporal into the actuality and divinity of man the eternal, a Paradise finaliter.

103:9.5 (1141.3) Although religious experience is a purely spiritual subjective phenomenon, such an experience embraces a positive and living faith attitude toward the highest realms of universe objective reality. The ideal of religious philosophy is such a faith-trust as would lead man unqualifiedly to depend upon the absolute love of the infinite Father of the universe of universes. Such a genuine religious experience far transcends the philosophic objectification of idealistic desire; it actually takes salvation for granted and concerns itself only with learning and doing the will of the Father in Paradise. The earmarks of such a religion are: faith in a supreme Deity, hope of eternal survival, and love, especially of one’s fellows.

The gospel about Jesus perpetuates the barbaric belief in winning an angry god's favor by bloody human sacrifice.

Please consider the many profound differences between that falsehood and the truth and glory of the Gospel OF Jesus!!!

The Jesusonian Gospel or 4th Epochal Revelation to our world was a reinforcement and reiteration of the Sage of Salem's gospel (the 3rd Planetary and Epochal Revelation), both of which accomplished, or at least attempted, two important and historical, indeed epochal, advancements to human reality-perspective and personal religious/spiritual progress - both previously known but later lost in history by rebellion and default as delivered by Dalamatia and The Garden.

The first such teaching was to deliver the fact and truth of our direct and personal relationship with God and the resulting family of all humans (and all celestials too). Such a concept of paternal affection and personal relationship completely challenged all prior pagan and primitive beliefs developed by our million year evolutionary history.

And that was the second thing...the liberation of humanity from the evolutionary traditions of taboo and ghost fears and the false impositions of and by the priesthood.

Unfortunately, the Apostles and Paulinian doctrines which came to form the Gospel ABOUT Jesus became a mere regurgitation and reinforcement of a littany of prior primitive superstitions and fear based and fictional/false belief systems and reality-perspective. The Good News became diluted and distorted and disrupted and corrupted and lost and buried within the Christian casket and tomb which encases it still today.

But now and for 1000 generations before now, the Spirit of Truth gives witness to every mind of the Jesusonian Gospel, so the truth of the Jesusonian Gospel is a growing influence and factor in both the personal and planetary effects of religious experience and progress.

For those interested please consider reading the study on the origins of Christianity and all evolutionary religions, both ancient and modern.

Sorry...math error! :? It's only been 100 generations! Not 1000.

Consider the progress of our world in the past 100 generations by the power and influence of the Jesusonian Gospel and the Spirit of Truth ministry and the effect of the God Fragments within all people for these past 2000+ years!

The Jesusonian Gospel is the universal truth about universe reality. It is a timeless truth and all beings everywhere are its audience. This Good News is a simple description of God's nature and relationship to all beings AND to each being in all of creation and how that relationship creates the family of all beings and their relationship with each other.

It's not a doctrine or creedal theology. It is a universal and absolute fact and truth.

52:6.7 (598.2) 5. Spiritual insight. The brotherhood of man is, after all, predicated on the recognition of the fatherhood of God. The quickest way to realize the brotherhood of man on Urantia is to effect the spiritual transformation of present-day humanity. The only technique for accelerating the natural trend of social evolution is that of applying spiritual pressure from above, thus augmenting moral insight while enhancing the soul capacity of every mortal to understand and love every other mortal. Mutual understanding and fraternal love are transcendent civilizers and mighty factors in the world-wide realization of the brotherhood of man.

The UB teaches us that the Jesusonian Gospel is universal. It is not truly Jesusonian, as in original to Jesus, but is a declaration of universal truth and reality. It is taught and declared on every world and to all beings - both mortal and celestial. There is no place that this Good News is not true or in effect. It is true everywhere and always, forever.

So much more the pity to have been pirated and distorted and reduced in meaning and value by the Christian church and Paul. The humanization of universal truth was unfortunate. However, God has a plan to overcome such predictable behavior and outcomes. The Universal Gospel is perpetuated and sustained throughout the Mortal Epochs by the gift of the Son's Spirit - the Spirit of Truth.

8)

101:1.3 (1104.6) The divine spirit makes contact with mortal man, not by feelings or emotions, but in the realm of the highest and most spiritualized thinking. It is your thoughts, not your feelings, that lead you Godward. The divine nature may be perceived only with the eyes of the mind. But the mind that really discerns God, hears the indwelling Adjuster, is the pure mind. “Without holiness no man may see the Lord.” All such inner and spiritual communion is termed spiritual insight. Such religious experiences result from the impress made upon the mind of man by the combined operations of the Adjuster and the Spirit of Truth as they function amid and upon the ideas, ideals, insights, and spirit strivings of the evolving sons of God.

101:1.4 (1105.1) Religion lives and prospers, then, not by sight and feeling, but rather by faith and insight. It consists not in the discovery of new facts or in the finding of a unique experience, but rather in the discovery of new and spiritual meanings in facts already well known to mankind. The highest religious experience is not dependent on prior acts of belief, tradition, and authority; neither is religion the offspring of sublime feelings and purely mystical emotions. It is, rather, a profoundly deep and actual experience of spiritual communion with the spirit influences resident within the human mind, and as far as such an experience is definable in terms of psychology, it is simply the experience of experiencing the reality of believing in God as the reality of such a purely personal experience.

You cannot accurately interpret the Christian Gospel through the lenses of The Urantia Book or vice versa.

The Urantia Book's portrayal of the Christian Gospel is called the "Social Gospel," and it is product of so-called Liberal Christianity, which did not even exist until the late 1800s and early 1900s. It's core message is— wait for it— "The Fatherhood of God and the Brotherhood of Man." Sound familiar?

It is pure hubris to suggest that billions of ordinary Christians and brilliant theologians have got it wrong, but a novel, 20th Century reinterpretation of the Christian religion got it right.

Despite whatever superficial similarities there might be between the Christian Gospel and the Jesusonian Gospel, they are not so different from each other that it makes no sense to use the one to judge the other.

The personal religious experience of faith, assurance, spirit relationship, and spiritization is never "wrong" in its function or results. But any teachings of God's wrath or appeasement or atonement or eternal suffering and damnation certainly are factually wrong indeed!

And also contradicts and defies the Gospel actually spoken and taught by the Master IN the biblical gospels.

I look forward to the discussion about the Bible, Christianity, Paulinian doctrine, and the UB.

I am unsure I understand what you mean or who you accuse of hubris? My personal "interpretation" of the Christian Gospel came as a teenager in a Christian church and not by or through "the lenses" of the UB. It is easy to distinguish both the Jesusonian and Paulinian gospels in the KJV.

But nonetheless, most of the "brilliant theologians" you mention certainly do recognize the differences and discrepancies and contradictions between the Jesusonian Gospel presented BY Jesus in the NT and the Gospel ABOUT Jesus presented by Paul - the Paulinian doctrines. Those distinctions and that theological discussion certainly do not originate with the Urantia Book.

Theology is, by definition, the study of religions and often includes comparative analysis. Are theologians also guilty of hubris by the study of religion and their comparisons and that lens of perspective? Hmmmm.....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_theology

The UB offers much to consider on the differences between the actual message of Jesus and the doctrines about him. Have you read Part IV yet?

The Christian doctrines of Paul related to original sin and atonement and the sacrificial lamb, etc. and the same so called gospel about Jesus presented in the UB is certainly not the Social Gospel of the late 19th century and the UB is very detailed in its historic timeline and source and results of doctrinal theologies.

Are you interested in learning what the UB says about the different gospels?? There is so much to learn and share about the history of Christianity and also the Jesusonian Gospel... which is indeed the family of creation and paternal relationship between God and all beings everywhere!!

On "gospel": https://www.urantia.org/urantia-book/se ... &op=Search

196:2.1 (2091.10) Some day a reformation in the Christian church may strike deep enough to get back to the unadulterated religious teachings of Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. You may preach a religion about Jesus, but, perforce, you must live the religion of Jesus. In the enthusiasm of Pentecost, Peter unintentionally inaugurated a new religion, the religion of the risen and glorified Christ. The Apostle Paul later on transformed this new gospel into Christianity, a religion embodying his own theologic views and portraying his own personal experience with the Jesus of the Damascus road. The gospel of the kingdom is founded on the personal religious experience of the Jesus of Galilee; Christianity is founded almost exclusively on the personal religious experience of the Apostle Paul. Almost the whole of the New Testament is devoted, not to the portrayal of the significant and inspiring religious life of Jesus, but to a discussion of Paul’s religious experience and to a portrayal of his personal religious convictions. The only notable exceptions to this statement, aside from certain parts of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, are the Book of Hebrews and the Epistle of James. Even Peter, in his writing, only once reverted to the personal religious life of his Master. The New Testament is a superb Christian document, but it is only meagerly Jesusonian.

196:2.2 (2091.11) Jesus’ life in the flesh portrays a transcendent religious growth from the early ideas of primitive awe and human reverence up through years of personal spiritual communion until he finally arrived at that advanced and exalted status of the consciousness of his oneness with the Father. And thus, in one short life, did Jesus traverse that experience of religious spiritual progression which man begins on earth and ordinarily achieves only at the conclusion of his long sojourn in the spirit training schools of the successive levels of the pre-Paradise career. Jesus progressed from a purely human consciousness of the faith certainties of personal religious experience to the sublime spiritual heights of the positive realization of his divine nature and to the consciousness of his close association with the Universal Father in the management of a universe. He progressed from the humble status of mortal dependence which prompted him spontaneously to say to the one who called him Good Teacher, “Why do you call me good? None is good but God,” to that sublime consciousness of achieved divinity which led him to exclaim, “Which one of you convicts me of sin?” And this progressing ascent from the human to the divine was an exclusively mortal achievement. And when he had thus attained divinity, he was still the same human Jesus, the Son of Man as well as the Son of God.

196:2.3 (2092.1) Mark, Matthew, and Luke retain something of the picture of the human Jesus as he engaged in the superb struggle to ascertain the divine will and to do that will. John presents a picture of the triumphant Jesus as he walked on earth in the full consciousness of divinity. The great mistake that has been made by those who have studied the Master’s life is that some have conceived of him as entirely human, while others have thought of him as only divine. Throughout his entire experience he was truly both human and divine, even as he yet is.

196:2.4 (2092.2) But the greatest mistake was made in that, while the human Jesus was recognized as having a religion, the divine Jesus (Christ) almost overnight became a religion. Paul’s Christianity made sure of the adoration of the divine Christ, but it almost wholly lost sight of the struggling and valiant human Jesus of Galilee, who, by the valor of his personal religious faith and the heroism of his indwelling Adjuster, ascended from the lowly levels of humanity to become one with divinity, thus becoming the new and living way whereby all mortals may so ascend from humanity to divinity. Mortals in all stages of spirituality and on all worlds may find in the personal life of Jesus that which will strengthen and inspire them as they progress from the lowest spirit levels up to the highest divine values, from the beginning to the end of all personal religious experience.

So.... the Gospel as taught by the Master is not the Christian or the Jesusonian gospels really. Neither of those. The Gospel of the Kingdom as taught by Jesus is truly the Universal Gospel of Creation. It is not about and not for only the peoples of our world and its not about any particular religion or belief system or theology or creeds and doctrines.

The Gospel is the universal declaration of truth that we are all God's children and we are family and we share our source and destiny in this friendly universe!!

This universe fact and truth do not require our understanding to be true. But to accept this fact and truth as true in our own life changes us profoundly and will lead to the eternal adventure of living in this Kingdom and this Family!!

Now that's some good news!!

So...there is the Jesusonian Gospel proclaimed by the Master and then there is the life of faith and goodness and grace lived by the Master.

2:0.2 (33.2) The nature of God can be studied in a revelation of supreme ideas, the divine character can be envisaged as a portrayal of supernal ideals, but the most enlightening and spiritually edifying of all revelations of the divine nature is to be found in the comprehension of the religious life of Jesus of Nazareth, both before and after his attainment of full consciousness of divinity. If the incarnated life of Michael is taken as the background of the revelation of God to man, we may attempt to put in human word symbols certain ideas and ideals concerning the divine nature which may possibly contribute to a further illumination and unification of the human concept of the nature and the character of the personality of the Universal Father.
