A simple way to keep up with the latest postings to this forum is to bookmark the following URL
https://forum.truthbook.com/search.php?search_id=newposts

If you are not logged in when you click the link, you will see nothing.

If you are logged in when you click the link, you will see all the posts that have been made since your last visit (with the most recent posts at the top); including any posts in the private areas of the forum, if you have access to those areas.

Hi Gremlin. The link doesn't seem to work anymore. I get: "Search found 0 matches"..

It still works (for me). The link should only show zero posts if there have been no new posts since your last visit.

If one should find oneself in this unfortunate position, my advice is that one should boil a pot of tea, and get the scones, butter, and jam ready for one's neighbour who is about to pop over to your place for a chinwag.

After an appropriate length of time - that does not exceed the limits of politeness - one can then give the neighbour some home made shortbread and sent them on their way.

One might then experience the delight of finding that the forum has some new posts.

Of course. That makes sense. :) By the way, I noticed that (apparently since the last forum software update) it’s almost impossible to type or edit posts that are longer than a rather restrictive number of characters (a few thousand?). Is that intended?

I have just posted the whole of Paper 1 into this thread - as a test. Then I deleted it. The admin panel says that the maximum amount of characters allowed is 60,000.

I am not sure why you are having a problem. Sometimes the simplest answer is the answer. In which case, it is highly probable that your connection to the server is 'timing out' before the post is uploaded.

As a general rule, very large posts will be frowned upon by the admins because people tend not to read large posts and large posts are - therefore - seen as a slippery slope to increasing the 'noise' level in a forum.

Historically, posting super-large amounts of text to a discussion board was a way to break a forum or make it unreadable. People who do that, tend to get banned.

Yes. Now try and edit "(31.8) 1:7.8" into "(31.8 ) 1:7.8"..

Hi Gremlin, it appears the link doesn't work anymore. It always directs you to a forum-search screen..

Thanks. I have fixed it in the 1st post. The link - as you have pointed out - is now: https://forum.truthbook.com/search.php?search_id=newposts
