Bradly - can I ask a favour? just read all of paper 34 - started at 6-7 then went back and read 1 thru 5

can I ask you to give me one paper to read as stepping stones like you gave me paper 34.6 to read?
in your own thinking and as I know you know all the papers - I can jump around a bit was intrigued by your giving me paper 34.6 to read which was bang on to my thoughts on Spirit and Man
- but am asking more as a "student" if you can give me a paper to read in say a series - just one at a time - and not from book 4 - as I am getting thru book 4 pretty good and fast... anyway just thought I would ask - kind of asking for stepping stones on the papers and would appreciate your input - anyway - let me know - just to give me some direction - but yes I can pick and choose myself as well
am getting the feel of it now - but whoa - more super spiritual than physical all of books 1-2-3 - no mention of spacecraft or anything -ALL Spirit - all good - certainly not channeled - I read the books of Ra a couple of years ago - and they were channeled - also the Byron Belitsos you tube vid - he says book 4 on JC was instantainiously printed or something where the first 3 books were handed down verbally or otherwise - but not channeled - which is good - anyway - what I am reading is certainly all good - I can tell from how much Spirit is in all the writings ... and I am just a noob here 5 5 5 well maybe not just a noob - but things are making a lot of sense - maybe too much details in some papers - or not - and yes will have to reread 3+ times - have heard that in some other stuff as well and I read the good book bible thru 2+ times myself cover to cover
anywho - just asking for hints on papers to read is all I guess I should say

The Papers present a portrait of reality in such detail, I think, to appeal to as many human perspectives as possible. Do you love history? Or science? Or heroic epochs? Or philosophy? Or politics and social order? Comparative religious studies? Religious instruction? Creationism and the laws of God? Eternity and infinity? Source and destiny? Psychology or theology? The cause of suffering? Evil and sin? Mercy and forgiveness? The heavenly abode? Paradise? The nature of God? Physics and time? The definition of truth, beauty, and goodness? How to be truly happy?

Each of us presents a very unique perspective of inquiry and curiosity to this book. I think the text was thoroughly considered and edited to appeal to the greatest number and diverse or divergent interests, not only for appeal to and engagement of more students but also as a direct challenge for very diverse consideration of critical thinking by true expertise for favorable comparative analysis and confirmations over the coming generations.

If the UB is what it claims to be (as I have come to believe), then the authors intend for its contents to become more and more accepted by empirical validations over time because of and by its detailed and exhaustive contents on so many topics. Or so I think.

I have no wish to direct your studies or predict or dictate your interests....but I will share with you that I first read Papers 99-103 and have re-read them more often than any others and those have delivered more changes to personal perspective and philosophy and transformation than any others to me. For what it's worth... .

Best wishes Steve.

8) Bradly

Bradly - ok fair enough - good viewpoint - yes just bought a notepad today as am getting mixed around on what papers I have read and what pages so have to get organized until the book shows up and then can make notes - but 99-103 looks good on Religion - well have to make notes on which papers i have read - was keeping track just by pages and yes can jump around to different papers by titles as I am interested by subject and see how it goes - hard with just the pdf for me as I can't make notes on it - I know you can make notes on pdf but it too time consuming for me right now - anyway - yes too many subjects to go thru - but getting close to finishing book 4 then will have to backtrack and get thru the others as I go - ok very nice - i will get thru them all once in a month or so - so will be patient and just go paper by paper - book maybe here in 7-10 days now so not so bad - faster than march 15 that was given -
and yes love history but still need to wrap my brain around the super list of Spirit beings mentioned - was looking for something on the physical worlds or evolutionary worlds in more detail also - but will stay with the higher forms and see how that goes - not sure how much detail the UB goes into on other world physical inhabitants and details like that out of the huge number of inhabited worlds - anyway - seems like there is more to learn on the Spiritual side of higher beings in the UB - but yes have to get threu it all first and then reread more of what I am interested in ! very nice - thanks ! book 4 is really giving me big thought now with all the background of JC etc - am on paper 136 - read 120 thru 136 and my first read was paper 183 to the end - after reading a first few papers from the start on book 1 and book 2 and 3 jumping around a bit after realizing it was too deep to take on right away - anyway - onwards and upwards !

just in paper 137 - 137.7.13 and 14 very good stuff - I can see why the UB is trouble for some people... in verse 14 "he did not precipitate confusion by the presentation of truth too far beyond their capacity to comprehend" maybe same can be said for today even with parts of the UB for some people eh? hoping that it isn't but even from 2000 years ago to today - yes we can assimilate a lot more maybe than the people of 2000 yrs ago - but so many people do not have the time or the inclination to look for good stuff like the UB
and am pretty sure real due hard Bible people would say "no cannot go where the UB is going as is isn't the good book" which cannot be changed or altered - had one good Christian friend that made this very clear to me ... anyway ...

and 13 - "he early taught his followers that the kingdom of heaven was a spiritual experience having to do with the enthronement of God in the hearts of men"

I have to get something so I can copy and paste sentences instead of having to type them out 5 5 5 cannot copy and paste from the pdf book

You can bring up the parts of the book you want to copy and paste from an online source such as this https://www.urantia.org/urantia-book/re ... ook-online

Another great resource is the UB word search https://www.urantia.org/urantia-book/search

shrimpy steve thailand. if you are reading the book for the first time, assimilate it. do not look for other subjective interpretations in socialisation in which to base your opinions. read it front to back, you know take a year to read each successive paper every day or so. do this and to digest it and then see if it helps you in your career. you are languishing because you are jumping around too much when in fact the papers were ordered in order to inundate the mind in a logical sequence.

SEIa Kelly - appreciate the advise ! ok fair enough - read some of the first papers and was getting bogged down with all the info and sounded like an army rules and regulation book on the huge spiritual realms (and way over my head) so I jumped to the life of Jesus - just to see how that was written - and it has blown me away - almost done with book 4 and yes will go back and go to book 1-2-3 in proper order I think is the plan - yes must be a logical order I am sure - just was getting a bit heavy going when I started - am getting a handle on book 1 now tho - not so over the top now - and I read pretty fast even if having to go over a paragraph once or twice to make sure I get it - you actually are not supposed to skip over a word you don't know the meaning to unless you look up the meaning of the word in a sentence or paragraph or you will miss the meaning of the whole thing - I read somewhere - but ok thanks for the advise - yes better to start from the beginning as I am sure "they" know what "they" are doing getting this all down in this order !!!
got it and thanks !

ok back to Book 1 paper 9.5 paragraphs 6-7 -fairly scathing rebuke on any mortal mind mortal trying to over come the "mortal mind" thinking very true as many humans beings are trying to kill someone or screw another human up one way or another - but I must say tactless - a la John the Baptist - telling it like it is 5 5 5
ok "your mortal minds are not yet of divine dignity" ok got it "mind as you know it on your world of ascension can hardly become the object of great admiration, much less of adoration or worship" whoa - really ? I don't want any one or being admiring or adoring my Mind
or worshiping my mind - I may adore and worship the God and Spirit of all - but hey - this is a pretty tactless accusation of some mortal man which is also a son of god that is trying to be more spiritual every day and live by JC's words... oh well - had to make a comment on this paragraph - maybe true but also not nice - no mention of becoming more spiritual - or what is the exact percentage of "creatures" on this planet that are trying to be better in the Spirit? anyway - yes we need to have humility - but I take exception to these 2 paragraphs - midwayers or whatever that is writing this - this may be true but does not lead to the help of becoming more spiritual person in Mind or Spirit in my opinion anyway - ok whatever nuff said - will keep on carrying on reading

yikes

Your own sense of humility is described as appropriate in the text cited. All mind is from the same source, some is Divinely exalted and some is the mind of the least and lowest in experience and wisdom. We worship God in mind and by mind. Some of us glorify ourselves and our own mind or other mortals which is most foolish and unworthy. Or so I understand.

paper 9 9.6 8 and 9 why do they not know the function of the Universal Absolute ? why the incompleteness of the Supreme Being ?
" there is much about mind that is unknown" really in the UB? why?
ok then it goes to say the Supreme Being and Infinite Spirit is the perfect expression of the mind of the Creator - ok I get that
anyway - just putting notes down as I read

There are realities that even a Divine Counselor can only speculate about. Mystery and metaphysics, to some degree or another, exists for all but God.

In Parts I-III, authors are listed at the end of each Paper.

Papers 115-117 best describe the Supreme, the God of Potentials, Eventuations, Experience, and the Expression of Experience in time and space. A profoundly important and logical aspect of reality found in the UB.

Tighten your chin strap there buckaroo! Yahoo.....!!  :!:  8)

Always thought the Supreme was so...Zen!! God the Infinite and Eternal, the First Source and Center could not possibly experience perfecting or abide in time. How does such a perfecting of potentials become realized and actualized I was wondering while studying Taoism and Zen when I discovered the UB? Eastern thinking has always considered the ALL to include the each in a universal and experiential sense. It made perfect sense to me when I discovered the Supreme Being in the Papers!! The very purpose of time and space is free will experientially perfecting and the expression of that journey in time to the shores of eternity, infinity, and Divine perfection! How is such an experience of the each and the many become realized and actualized as the ALL? God The Supreme.

115:2.3 (1261.3) The entire scheme of universal creation and evolution on all experiencing levels is apparently a matter of the conversion of potentialities into actualities; and this transmutation has to do equally with the realms of space potency, mind potency, and spirit potency.

115:3.5 (1262.2) One basic conception of the absolute level involves a postulate of three phases:

115:3.6 (1262.3) 1. The Original. The unqualified concept of the First Source and Center, that source manifestation of the I AM from which all reality takes origin.

115:3.7 (1262.4) 2. The Actual. The union of the three Absolutes of actuality, the Second, Third, and Paradise Sources and Centers. This triodity of the Eternal Son, the Infinite Spirit, and the Paradise Isle constitutes the actual revelation of the originality of the First Source and Center.

115:3.8 (1262.5) 3. The Potential. The union of the three Absolutes of potentiality, the Deity, Unqualified, and Universal Absolutes. This triodity of existential potentiality constitutes the potential revelation of the originality of the First Source and Center.

115:3.9 (1262.6) The interassociation of the Original, the Actual, and the Potential yields the tensions within infinity which result in the possibility for all universe growth; and growth is the nature of the Sevenfold, the Supreme, and the Ultimate.

115:3.17 (1263.4) Statics in growth can never appear in the total cosmos since the basis for growth—the absolute actuals—is unqualified, and since the possibilities for growth—the absolute potentials—are unlimited. From a practical viewpoint the philosophers of the universe have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as an end.

115:3.18 (1263.5) From a circumscribed view there are, indeed, many ends, many terminations of activities, but from a larger viewpoint on a higher universe level, there are no endings, merely transitions from one phase of development to another. The major chronicity of the master universe is concerned with the several universe ages, the Havona, the superuniverse, and the outer universe ages. But even these basic divisions of sequence relationships cannot be more than relative landmarks on the unending highway of eternity.

115:7.1 (1266.2) In the Deity of the Supreme the Father-I AM has achieved relatively complete liberation from the limitations inherent in infinity of status, eternity of being, and absoluteness of nature. But God the Supreme has been freed from all existential limitations only by having become subject to experiential qualifications of universal function. In attaining capacity for experience, the finite God also becomes subject to the necessity therefor; in achieving liberation from eternity, the Almighty encounters the barriers of time; and the Supreme could only know growth and development as a consequence of partiality of existence and incompleteness of nature, nonabsoluteness of being.

115:7.6 (1266.7) God the Supreme does not appear to have been inevitable in unqualified infinity, but he seems to be on all relativity levels. He is the indispensable focalizer, summarizer, and encompasser of evolutionary experience, effectively unifying the results of this mode of reality perception in his Deity nature. And all this he appears to do for the purpose of contributing to the appearance of the inevitable eventuation, the superexperience and superfinite manifestation of God the Ultimate.

The Papers teach us that every righteous choice, decision, and act not only actualizes the individual making these decisions but also contributes to the totality of the Supreme Being...we each personally activate and actualize Deity by our unique, personalized growth and progress in the Spirit. The Supreme is the repository of ALL righteousness by ALL beings ever created in time and space. No error or evil or sin or iniquity ever goes to or abides in or effects God The Supreme but every choice and moment of truth, beauty, goodness, love, kindness, mercy, forgiveness, and love does go directly to the Supreme to reside and abide and to change and to actualize the God of Experience.

117:0.1 (1278.1) TO THE extent that we do the will of God in whatever universe station we may have our existence, in that measure the almighty potential of the Supreme becomes one step more actual. The will of God is the purpose of the First Source and Center as it is potentialized in the three Absolutes, personalized in the Eternal Son, conjoined for universe action in the Infinite Spirit, and eternalized in the everlasting patterns of Paradise. And God the Supreme is becoming the highest finite manifestation of the total will of God.

117:0.4 (1278.4) The parts and individuals of the grand universe evolve as a reflection of the total evolution of the Supreme, while in turn the Supreme is the synthetic cumulative total of all grand universe evolution. From the mortal viewpoint both are evolutionary and experiential reciprocals.

117:1.2 (1278.6) In the persons of the Supreme Creators the Gods have descended from Paradise to the domains of time and space, there to create and to evolve creatures with Paradise-attainment capacity who can ascend thereto in quest of the Father. This universe procession of descending God-revealing Creators and ascending God-seeking creatures is revelatory of the Deity evolution of the Supreme, in whom both descenders and ascenders achieve mutuality of understanding, the discovery of eternal and universal brotherhood. The Supreme Being thus becomes the finite synthesis of the experience of the perfect-Creator cause and the perfecting-creature response.

Now there's some Zen for you!!!

I have only complimented your humility here Steve - or meant to. My counter points and answers to questions are not intended as defensive or critical or argumentative but merely as discussion and presentation of my understanding of the issues you raise as presented in the UB. You are new and eager and sincere and merely beginning to enjoy and explore the deep end of UB religious studies. I am in very good humor myself and find your posts insightful and appropriate and most welcome. No worries.

Glad you are here. Happy to help as I can. Anything I post that is not a direct quote is but my own opinion and a presentation of my limited and subjective perspective. Student Be Aware! I am indifferent to whether students believe the UB in contents or claims. The purpose of being here is simply to study and discuss and share the exploration of the Papers together.

My only advice is....don't forget to breathe...……hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8) Bradly

11:3.1 (120.4) On upper Paradise there are three grand spheres of activity, the Deity presence, the Most Holy Sphere, and the Holy Area. The vast region immediately surrounding the presence of the Deities is set aside as the Most Holy Sphere and is reserved for the functions of worship, trinitization, and high spiritual attainment. There are no material structures nor purely intellectual creations in this zone; they could not exist there. It is useless for me to undertake to portray to the human mind the divine nature and the beauteous grandeur of the Most Holy Sphere of Paradise. This realm is wholly spiritual, and you are almost wholly material. A purely spiritual reality is, to a purely material being, apparently nonexistent.

Bradly - your posts are most appreciated by me! great stuff ! and yes - I should tighten the chin straps on the crash helmet and not forget to breathe 5 5 5 I know your comments are all in top form and come from a high spiritual place !

so i decided to try the copy and paste here from 11.3.1 which is great - but then tried to bold the sentence and all i get is [b] Thought was a bit funny that why a pure spiritual reality is to a mortal man could be "non existent" anyway - not going to complain as this Perfector of Wisdom then does go to explain more of Paradise in the next pages - just thought it interesting that that they should make the comment that "it is useless for me to undertake to portray" as it is apparent that us human beings do have some divine nature that would make it not useless to try to let us understand all this - which they do go on to do in the following pages .... hmmm
anyway - I can conceive of a wholly Spiritual reality - to some extent anyway
