So...what do you think it means?

I think what it means is that in life, there is an inherent paradox with ourselves, our relationships with others, and the desire to do God's will that is impossible to avoid which, needs to be refined. Regarding Adam, if I had been in his shoes I doubt I would have done anything different.

Yes...paradox cannot be avoided but must be grappled with and penetrated and harmonized and resolved if much progress is to be made. In Experiential Wisdom there are always refinements and improvements to be found regarding priorities, strategies, tactics, and timing I think.

God measures our motives and intentions primarily I think, rather than our Wisdom.

Anyway, I hope so!

LOL you can say that again!

I can’t help but wonder what Adam would say today if asked if he regrets the choice he made with regards to Eve.

I imagine him saying something along the lines of ‘The only thing I really regret is that at the time it felt like I had no other choice’.

nodAmanaV posts above: "I say all this in regard to what the papers say about what we can expect is something we will need to consider about how to handle life's sorrow and disappointment when we arrive on the mansion worlds."

What "sorrow(s) and disappointment(s)" do you expect on the Mansion Worlds???

According to my understanding of the UB, we should more likely experience exhilaration and relief and assurance upon our awakening.

What DO the Papers say? Text please.

I hope not many. But apparently based on what is said below, I suppose dealing with sorrow and disappointment should be expected. I find it interesting that it said moving forward will apparently be made easier by making fewer personal plans concerning other personalities. At the moment, I'm really not sure what that means.

Quote:
Paper 48 - The Morontia Life
48:6:36 (555.4) Sometimes the planting of a seed necessitates its death, the death of your fondest hopes, before it can be reborn to bear the fruits of new life and new opportunity. And from them you will learn to suffer less through sorrow and disappointment, first, by making fewer personal plans concerning other personalities, and then, by accepting your lot when you have faithfully performed your duty.

Well, if we pick up over there exactly where we left off over here I don't see how a person won't have to deal with the same sorrows and disappointments they had before passing. I think that might be one of the first things they will be helping us to overcome so we can get on with it.

The UB teaches that death and survival does not result in mythical perfection or abrogate evolutionary progress and the requirements of experiential wisdom.

You don't think waking up in Heaven might, in and of itself, deliver immediate relief and assurance and relief from anxiety and sorrows??

I think our awakening will be a glorious accelerant and rejuvenation and triumphant moment!!

I agree with you. I can't imagine that it wouldn't be overwhelmingly glorious and rejuvenating. That in and of itself being a catalyst for pretty much immediately getting over a lot of things from life here on earth
