“within a few short years many of our statements regarding the physical sciences will stand in need of revision” (1109.3, 101:4.2). Hey! I was just watching one of Nigel Nunn's excellent videos where he reads the above quote. I often read new articles concerning the James Webb Telescope and it seems...

Good points FanofVan. There is still a lot of evolution in front of us! But it would seem that we are in the midst of a major paradigm shift and many positive changes will result, it may be a bit of a rough ride but we know that we are moving forward! Thanks for the help!

I agree. Being alive is one thing, but without health and vitality... I don't know. But on the other hand, we do learn valuable lessons in difficulties, but do these lessons enhance our morontia status? Will a sudden revelation jump start our morontial career? I suppose for people that have never re...

Great! If they can keep their mind open to the fact that many of the previous models and theories are wrong then we can all tremendously benefit from these thrilling discoveries. Many still stubbornly cling to the Big Bang with religious zeal but I believe the sincerely seeking minds will begin to s...

Thanks FanofVan, great quotes. That section of Paper 55 always reminds me of an old sci-fi movie called Logan's Run. I've often wondered if the writer(s) got their idea of people arriving at a certain age and getting "flashed" as it were. Of course, as planets move closer to being settled ...

Hi everybody! I have been wondering about this for some time but could never seem to put it into words, so here I go again--- Since I am getting a little long in the tooth myself I wonder a little about the days ahead and of course hoping that I go easy and don't finish my days tubed up in some hosp...

https://bigthink.com/thinking/physics-crisis-quantum-cosmology-theory-of-everything/ I am no scientist, merely curious. The more science learns the more the evidence points to a Creator and the evidence is becoming irrefutable. As the Papers state, Science and Religion should walk hand in hand, and...

Hi Angels Online, Notice that 15:3.1 (p167.17) refers to " the starry realms visible to the naked eye ". If we exclude the 3 to 5 faint nebulae visible (to some with good eyes), then all these stars are within the Milky Way, and thus most are much less than 50,000 light years away. Howeve...

I was wondering about the value of empirical experience here on Urantia. As we observe on our planet many have died "prematurely" as little children so they weren't provided the opportunity of surviving mortal struggle and experiencing some degree of suffering that inevitably comes with t...

Hello! Yes, this is an old thread but I'm inspired to say a thing or two :D 1. Is there a possibility that the authors of the UB be untruthful or at least deliberately hiding information? I believe that we are clearly told that one of the authors' prime goals or mandates is to correct current human...

The quote that follows is also really good! 100:2.8 After such spiritual attainment, whether secured by gradual growth or specific crisis, there occurs a new orientation of personality as well as the development of a new standard of values. Such spirit-born individuals are so remotivated in life tha...

Nice response...thanks, Al Maybe you're thinking of this passage: 100:2.7 (1096.4) Jesus portrayed the profound surety of the God-knowing mortal when he said: “To a God-knowing kingdom believer, what does it matter if all things earthly crash?” Temporal securities are vulnerable, but spiritual sure...

This topic is excellent and has been thoroughly discussed down through the centuries... it reads a bit like the book of Job. But there is a quote which I can't find which MaryJo quoted regarding tribulation and difficulties, something like "What is it to a child of the Father if everything fail...
